Hollywood lost Rutger Hauer today. Hauer was an amazing Dutch actor who made a nice career for himself as a big villain. Easily the most popular role he had was in "Blade Runner." As much as I love that movie, but his work in "The Hitcher" was pretty terrifying. Its amazing how he manipulates C. Thomas Howell's character. He seems like a villain at one point, then perhaps an anti-hero at other times too. But then maybe not, and maybe yes. Its a strange role, one that Hauer brings to life completely.
He's a guy that should have been more well known than he was. He actually had a really big career and appeared in several films. He's a guy I will miss quite a bit.
