Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Trailer
I remember being in middle school when the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. I think the first film is a fun, swashbuckling blockbuster and the type of movie we don't see very much anymore. I wish I could say the same thing about the sequels. Both "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" felt like the filmmakers were trying to mix two different cakes both in one bowl, and they both became two jumbled messes. And that fourth film, I have done everything to put it out of my memory and I actually had to look up the franchise to remember that a fourth film even came out. Yes, I am resorting to call these films by the number in which they were released, I don't really feel the need to type out their long-winded titles any more.
This fifth film may have the longest and tedious title of the entire franchise so far, but it has one special thing going for it. Javier. Bardem. It took me a minute to really see that it was him. I'll be honest too, he kinda creeped me out here. I think I may have to catch this just for him alone. I certainly wouldn't watch it for anyone or anything else. I gave up on this franchise five years ago and I have never felt the need to go back, but boy is Bardem electrifying in this very short teaser.
What does everyone else think? Is this film necessary? Is Disney beating a dead horse? Should they leave it alone? Let's find out!
