Who Played It Best? Kahn Noonien Singh
Man, I sure hope I didn't ruin anything for the very few of you who didn't see "Star Trek Into Darkness" yet.
Kahn Noonien Singh is one of the most dangerous villains the original Star Trek team ever encountered. What made him interesting was he was a mental threat for the team, as well as a physical. Its always much more rewarding when a villain encompasses all that make a character truly profound. He isn't just a bad version of our heroes, he can almost best them in nearly every category. This is what makes Kahn a memorable villain. He has been played by two completely different actors. In the old TV show as well as the 1982 movie "Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn" by Ricardo Montalban. In 2013, he was played by Benedict Cumberbatch. (Both times he was NOT played by an Indian actor, which is the origin of the character.) My question tonight is,who played it best?
My Two Cents
I think both actors did a good job in the role. Although I think the handling of the character was very sloppy in 2013. I didn't quite understand all of the obfuscation around the character, which distracted me from the movie. But that was the movie's fault, not Cumberbatch's fault. I think Cumberbatch did exactly what he was asked to do. When Cumberbatch is at his best, he can no wrong, and I don't think he did very much wrong in his portrayal of Kahn. That being said, I think Ricardo did a very impressive job with his run of the character. He helped define the character as he was the first out of the gate, which always benefits in my eyes. Both men through themselves into their roles and they both came out great on the other side. I feel as if I don't have a dog in this fight, so this decision will come down whoever each person sees fit and it will be a wild week of voting.

LAST WEEK: WHO PLAYED IT BEST? THE FANTASTIC FOUR
Last week was the first time ever on this blog, I pitted two teams of people against each other, instead of mere individuals. The Fantastic Four from 2005 went up against the Fantastic Four from 2015, and here is how the vote shook out.
Best Mr. Fantastic
