Who Played It Best? Douglas Quaid

I never read the short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," written by Philip K. Dick. If you are unfamiliar with Philip K. Dick, almost any movie in the science fiction genre based on something is quite possibly based on something he wrote. This, of course, includes "Total Recall." I enjoyed the original "Total Recall." Its big and its dumb fun, it is your typical Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. It is definitely not something I ever expected would get the remake treatment. I mean sure, "Total Recall" is not a perfect movie I would say, but I just did not know what else could have possibly been said with it. But Hollywood sees dollar signs where most of the population can't. A remake was made in 2012, with Colin Farrell in the lead role over Schwarzenegger. So my question is, who played it best.
My Two Cents
The 2012 film was made in the wake of "The Dark Knight" and it is definitely a movie that suffered from "The Dark Knight syndrome." It was a movie that was darker and grittier simply for the sake of being dark and gritty. After "The Dark Knight" came out in 2008, it seemed the movie studios felt that this was what would sell movie tickets, and now we have entire hosts of shows and movies that are dark and gritty. The 2012 "Total Recall" definitely suffers from that. The Arnold Schwarzenegger movie may have been ridiculous and silly at some parts, but it was a fun movie. Now, I will say that I preferred the 1990 version of "Total Recall" as a movie. Let's face it, Arnold Schwarzenegger has never been much of an actor, he is a movie star. He is a guy who coasts off of charisma and one-liners. He has a body that was built for action movies, but as an actual actor? Well, there is a reason he has yet to be nominated for any type of award. While I love the big guy, I think Farrell did the most he could with the script he was given, even if that script was widely uneven. For this reason, I give the edge to Farrell.

This actually took place two weeks ago. I apologize for being a week late on this, but I had one busy week last week. So now, here is the votes for the best Robert Neville.
Well, I guess charisma can go a long way.
