Ultron shows his face this week!

Oh man, this has been a long time coming.

Tonight, we finally got our first look at Ultron from the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” As to be expected, he looks glorious! I am now more excited than ever before about seeing this sequel, and I was already pretty goddamn excited for it. We also saw the first look at the new costumes for both Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans). I have to say that I dig the new costumes as well, much more than the costumes of the first movie.

We also got a few tidbits of the story synopsis for the anticipated sequel. We learn that Ultron will indeed be invented by Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man) and the reason for Stark inventing Ultron will be for his new plan for homeland security. That is correct, if you have been keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if you have seen “Captain America: The Winter Solider” and ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” then you know what is going on. If you haven’t seen that play out yet, then I will dare not spoil the fun here. All I am going to say is that there is specific reason why Stark is going into creating his own security organization, and it seems Ultron will be the first piece of the puzzle for it.

Ultron will then discover that humans are indeed the real threat to Earth and he will turn against his creator and humankind in general and of course The Avengers will have to step in and stop him. That may sound like “I, Robot Redux” to you, and it truly does seem like a familiar avenue to travel down with Ultron. Let’s not forget though that a similarly familiar avenue was “heroes thwart alien invasion of Earth,” and that played out beautifully in “The Avengers.” I will say we should be open-minded about what Joss Whedon is cooking up here. Just because something is familiar, does not mean it can’t be fresh, fun and creative. That is precisely what Whedon proved in 2012 and I am sure he will prove it again next year.

What do you guys think of the synopsis and new peeks? Let me know!
