A brand new trailer for "Interstellar" hit the internet last week and I have come to discuss it a bit.
Like with all of Christopher Nolan's projects, we are given some story details, but the whole thing is not given away. I like that Nolan likes to give us faint glimpses without completely shattering his test tubes. So many times these days, trailers will give away an entire storyline right in the trailer. This type of marketing begs the question: What is the point of the trailer, or what is the point of seeing the movie for that matter? Nolan has never given us all of his eggs in one basket, so we know there will be so much to explore when we go to see this in theaters this July.
What we do learn from the trailers is that the world is starting to end. Something terrible is happening to our agriculture and there may not be any turning back. The trailer makes the emphasis that we as humans are destined to live somewhere else after Earth fails us, and that is what a space crew is going to do, find us a new place to live for humanity is destroyed. Of course, that is not it, it may not even be the whole of the truth of the story. All I know is I am ready to check this out.
Matthew McConaughey, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Topher Grace, and John Lithgow will star in the movie, among other great actors. So it'll definitely be worth checking out. Check out the new trailer.
