Christopher Nolan is a filmmaker who constantly tries to raise the bars he sets with his own filmmaking. He always wants a challenge, and I feel that's healthy. Even though Mr. Nolan has worked in the same genres, no two films in his filmography are alike. Heck, watching all three of his Batman movies together and those have glaring differences between them. That makes him very fun to watch, and now that Nolan is officially done with Batman, we can't wait to see his upcoming ideas.
The first idea we will see is "Interstellar," his first science fiction original since "Inception" in 2010. Telling the story of a group of researchers who travel through a space wormhole to find better land for cultivation. In this future, our Earth has become so hot that we cannot properly produce vegetation. The cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, Matt Damon and John Lithgow. Nolan regulars Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway will also be in the movie.
We get our first glimpse at the movie today as the first teaser trailer hit the Net today. I love how in this teaser we don't get a whole lot of information. But not to fear, a mood and theme is deeply set within the trailer. One thing I always loved about Nolan's trailers: he doesn't give away much, but he still gets you hooked.
Interstellar will be in theaters November 7th, 2014.
