What is The Stranger?
If there is anybody who is the master of bait-and-switch...it's J.J. Abrams.
This guy works overtime to tease you with his upcoming projects. Remember back in 2007 when you were crammed in a theater to see "Transformers?" And a mysterious trailer played which revealed a date and nothing more? No title in particular? That date became known as the release date for "Cloverfield," an American edition of Godzilla produced by J.J Abrams. The marketing for that movie was wild, even featuring videos that didn't connect to the movie at all. It was quite a bit of fun.
J.J. Abrams did something very similar when he advertised for his 2011 film "Super 8," and also for the sixth season of Lost. The guy loves to set up little games, and his fans love to come up with different theories.
Tonight, a mysterious trailer has appeared on YouTube entitled The Stranger. It's barely a minute long and it in Abrams fashion, tells us absolutely nothing. It only shows off brilliant, intriguing imagery.
Is this anything Star Wars related? Doubtful but maybe. Perhaps this has nothing to do movies, perhaps it has something to do with the many television projects J.J. Abrams has a hand in currently. Entertainment Weekly has come up with some fun theories of their own. It's amazing when so little can get people so giddy.
All I know is I can't wait to see how any of this materializes. If you haven't checked this out, please watch below.
Very brilliant, crazy, eerie footage. Soon he will know, huh? Hopefully so will we.
