I have always understood the importance of Superman as a character and even as a pop culture icon. He was the first superhero that really began to bring in readers. In 1978, Superman also proved to Hollywood that they could create superhero movies and make them popular. Sadly enough, there has not been a good Superman movie until now.
Even though Superman has never been my favorite character, I have always understood his importance. I know for the last several decades, WB has been fighting vigorously to bring a faithful adaptation to the screen...one in which both DC buffs and general audiences could look at with shock and awe. In 2006, "Superman Returns" was a flop. There were even more shameful attempts which never saw the light of day. Seriously, I am glad we never ever saw a super powered Lex Luthor.
This Summer Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan are making another attempt at bringing this iconic character to life. I think now, for the first time in a long time, I am intrigued by something Superman-related. The third trailer has been the best one yet...
I love this trailer, end of story. I am starting to think more and more that Snyder has put together something truly special. I am beginning to believe in Superman again
